TGIF - Matthew 10:1-4

MATTHEW 10:1-4
AND WHEN HE HAD CALLED HIS TWELVE DISCIPLES TO HIM, HE GAVE THEM POWER OVER UNCLEAN SPIRITS, TO CAST THEM OUT, AND TO HEAL ALL KINDS OF SICKNESS AND ALL KINDS OF DISEASE. 2 NOW THE NAMES OF THE TWELVE APOSTLES ARE THESE: FIRST, SIMON, WHO IS CALLED PETER, AND ANDREW HIS BROTHER; JAMES THE SON OF ZEBEDEE, AND JOHN HIS BROTHER; 3 PHILIP AND BARTHOLOMEW; THOMAS AND MATTHEW THE TAX COLLECTOR; JAMES THE SON OF ALPHAEUS, AND LEBBAEUS, WHOSE SURNAME WAS THADDAEUS; 4 SIMON THE CANANITE, AND JUDAS ISCARIOT, WHO ALSO BETRAYED HIM.

When Jesus called His 12 disciples (G12), he didn’t draft them, force them or asked them to volunteer. He chose them to serve Him in a special way. They are common people and uncommon leaders. They are normal people like us. Rich and poor, educated and uneducated, have their own natural human attitude of a person.

Today, some people think that only certain people are fit to follow Christ. But this was not the attitude of the Master Himself. Jesus can use anyone, no matter how insignificant he or she appears. We just need to be ready to be change and follow God. It is just a matter of choice and decision that you have to make. So, when you feel small or useless, remember that God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary work for His purpose.

TGIF - Matthew 10:22

MATTHEW 10:22
22 AND YOU WILL BE HATED BY ALL FOR MY NAME’S SAKE. BUT HE WHO ENDURES TO THE END WILL BE SAVED.

Yes, enduring to the end is a way to be saved and it is also the evidence that a person is really committed to Lord Jesus. Persistence on the other hand does not mean we will earn our salvation but it also the by-product of a truly devoted life to our savior.
